Senior CEQA/NEPA Planner/Assistant Group Manager

ECORP is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, client-centered professional to fill a role of Senior CEQA/NEPA Planner/Assistant Group Manager in the Rocklin office. The team member will be responsible for conducting and overseeing impact analysis, report preparation, business development, research, and field work related to CEQA/NEPA documentation and technical studies. Experience with CEQA-Plus compliance and/or Caltrans requirements and resource agency (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Regional Water Quality Control Board) permitting is a plus. The level of responsibility and performance should be that of someone with at least 10 years of relevant experience in the consulting industry. One of the primary responsibilities of the position is to contribute to building our local CEQA/NEPA practice as well as contribute to a statewide practice in coordination with our Chico and southern California offices and to assist our northern California Group Manager with management of the CEQA/NEPA practice in Rocklin. We are looking for a professional consultant with a strong working knowledge of CEQA/NEPA compliance regulations, environmental permitting, and land use. Responsibilities in this position will include:

  • identifying and developing new opportunities, preparing effective proposals, and actively developing new business with new and existing clients.
  • training and mentoring staff on CEQA/NEPA and other planning/environmental requirements;
  • preparing and managing complex environmental documentation for a wide variety of local and regional projects;
  • conducting complex analysis of data;
  • interacting with clients on mid to large size projects (budgeting, billing, scheduling, invoicing);
  • active involvement in planning/environmental professional organizations;
  • demonstrated confidence in decision-making and be recognized by clients and peers as having expertise in CEQA/NEPA and related technical areas; and
  • possessing existing positive relationships with Sacramento Valley and northern California CEQA/NEPA lead agencies.
  • Background requirements include Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Planning or Natural Sciences or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, including project management experience and technical leadership for multidisciplinary projects. At least 5 years of the most recent experience must show successful project management for northern California cities, counties, infrastructure agencies, and other lead agencies.

    Technical Editor

    ECORP Consulting, Inc. is seeking a technical editor. This position could be based in any of our California offices (Rocklin, Redlands, Santa Ana, San Diego, Chico).

    Duties include:

    • proof-reading technical, scientific, and other company documents related to environmental compliance (e.g., biological assessments, cultural resources survey reports, CEQA/NEPA documents, and proposals, among others) to ensure consistency with ECORP’s Style Guide;
    • tracking changes using Microsoft Word to check and correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, format inconsistencies, tables of contents, bibliographies, consistencies between text and related graphics, and overall format and style;
    • where applicable, ensuring that documents meet government agency-specific formats (e.g., Caltrans, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers);
    • assisting in the implementation of ECORP’s Style Guide, which includes document review protocols, procedures, templates, and formats. Responsible for tracking staff questions and comments on the Style Guide and annual reviews of the Style Guide to determine if revisions are needed;

        IMMEDIATE FIELD PALEONTOLOGISTS NEEDED – Temporary On-Call

        ECORP Consulting, Inc. is seeking motivated individuals in joining our team as on-call paleontologists for upcoming projects throughout California. As an on-call paleontologist, you will conduct paleontological monitoring of construction projects which may/will include: data collecting, interpretation of stratigraphic units, salvaging of fossils, preparation of daily monitoring logs, and other field tasks. The on-call paleontologist will work under the Principal Paleontologist and report directly to them.

        Qualifications

        • B.S. or B.A. degree in geology or paleontology and one year experience monitoring in the state or geologic province of the specific project
        • An associate degree and/or demonstrated experience showing ability to recognize fossils in a biostratigraphic context and recover vertebrate fossils in the field may be substituted for a degree
        • A.S. or A.A. in geology, paleontology, or biology and demonstrated two years experience collecting and salvaging fossil materials in the state or geologic province of the specific project
        • Enrollment in upper division classes pursuing a degree in the fields of geology or paleontology and two (2) years of monitoring experience in the state or geologic province of the specific project
        • Ability to identify vertebrate, invertebrate, plant, and trace fossils to Class or lower taxonomic level in the field is desirable
        • Ability to travel to various project sites for extended periods of time and work outdoors for extended periods of time in various weather conditions
        • The ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and experience:

          • • Bachelor’s Degree in ecology, botany or related field required. Master’s or PhD a plus.

          GIS Specialist – Rocklin (Office/Remote Hybrid Position Available)

          ECORP is looking for a GIS Specialist to support projects in our Rocklin office. We are looking for a motivated, self-starter who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced atmosphere.             Botanist/Biologist

            ECORP Consulting, Inc. is looking for a mid-level botanist/biologist to join the Natural Resources Department in our Rocklin office. We are seeking someone with excellent plant identification skills and taxonomic knowledge in a wide range of habitats, with particular experience in the Central Valley’s vernal pool grassland community./p>

            The biologist will perform the following job tasks:

            • Conduct/lead field surveys for rare, threatened, and endangered plants and invasive weeds

              Senior-level Archaeologist

              ECORP Consulting, Inc. is seeking a qualified, experienced, and dynamic senior-level archaeologist for our Northern and Southern California practices. This position may be located in any of our California offices.

              On-call Biologists (entry and mid-level) -- Multiple Positions Available

              Our Rocklin office is looking for entry and mid-level Biologists with experience in conducting biological surveys and construction monitoring. A Bachelor of Science degree or higher in biology, ecology, or a related science is required. We are looking for technical expertise in field biology and environmental compliance monitoring.               Senior Biologist/Project Manager

              ECORP Consulting, Inc. is searching for a qualified Senior Biologist/Project Manager to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects in a dynamic, collaborative environment.               Responsibilities:

              • Oversee and manage complex projects requiring biological resources supportand regulatory permitting.

              Selection Criteria:

              Biologists

              ECORP Consulting, Inc. is looking for mid-level biologists (aquatic resources delineator, wildlife biologist, fisheries biologist) to join the Natural Resources Department in our Rocklin office. We are seeking someone with excellent field biology and observation skills and knowledge in a wide range of taxa and vegetation communities, with particular experience in the Northern California fauna and flora.

              The biologist will perform the following job tasks:

              • Conduct/lead USACE three-parameter aquatic resource delineations
              • Conduct/lead field surveys and habitat assessments for special status species
              • Organize and schedule needed surveys for the field season
              • Prepare reports summarizing results of field surveys and technical studies
              • Prepare biological resource assessments to support biological sections of CEQA/NEPA applications
              • Prepare scopes of work and cost estimates for a variety of biological field tasks
              • Assist with permit applications, other document preparation, and other field efforts as appropriate
              • Support senior staff and train/mentor entry-level staff

              The ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and experience:

              • Capable of performing aquatic resources field delineations with minimal supervision
              • Bachelor’s Degree in ecology, biology or related field required. Master’s or PhD a plus
              • Minimum of 5 years related work or research experience. Consulting experience a plus
              • Excellent California plant and wildlife ID skills, particularly for Northern California special status species and their habitats
              • Capable of working independently with strong organizational, time management, and technical writing skills
              • Experience with GPS units/ArcGIS Collector a plus
              • Ability and desire to travel long distances to and from job sites that may require overnight stays
              • Maintain a flexible schedule due to unforeseen or last-minute project needs
