Senior-level Archaeologist

ECORP Consulting, Inc. is seeking a qualified, experienced, and dynamic senior-level archaeologist for our Northern and Southern California practices. This position may be located in any of our California offices.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • serving as a Principal Investigator on projects throughout California;
  • providing mentorship and leadership to mid-level and junior staff;
  • coordinating project tasks to meet cost and schedule objectives;
  • supervising and participating in field and laboratory work;
  • supervising groups of Senior, Staff, Associate, and Assistant Archaeologists;
  • authoring cultural resources technical reports;
  • developing new business from referrals from new and/or existing clients and assisting with marketing efforts;
  • preparing cultural resources proposals and assisting with the preparation of multidisciplinary proposals;

  • Minimum requirements include:

  • a master’s or doctorate degree in anthropology or archaeology;
  • a minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental and cultural resources management consulting in California;
  • Registered Professional Archaeologist (or ability to become certified as such upon hire);
  • ability to carry out fieldwork and/or construction monitoring, which may require periodic travel and work in extreme or challenging physical environments;
  • ability to function effectively in a fast-paced team environment but also to work independently;
  • a strong working knowledge of the federal and state regulatory settings;
  • proven ability to senior author cultural resource management reports; and
  • knowledge of the prehistory, history, archaeology, and ethnography of California.

  • demonstrated experience serving as a consultant in an advisory capacity to clients;
  • project management experience, including a proven ability to be on time and on budget;

Senior CEQA/NEPA Planner/Assistant Group Manager

ECORP is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, client-centered professional to fill a role of Senior CEQA/NEPA Planner/Assistant Group Manager in the Rocklin office. The team member will be responsible for conducting and overseeing impact analysis, report preparation, business development, research, and field work related to CEQA/NEPA documentation and technical studies. Experience with CEQA-Plus compliance and/or Caltrans requirements and resource agency (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Regional Water Quality Control Board) permitting is a plus. The level of responsibility and performance should be that of someone with at least 10 years of relevant experience in the consulting industry. One of the primary responsibilities of the position is to contribute to building our local CEQA/NEPA practice as well as contribute to a statewide practice in coordination with our Chico and southern California offices and to assist our northern California Group Manager with management of the CEQA/NEPA practice in Rocklin.

We are looking for a professional consultant with a strong working knowledge of CEQA/NEPA compliance regulations, environmental permitting, and land use. Responsibilities in this position will include:

  • identifying and developing new opportunities, preparing effective proposals, and actively developing new business with new and existing clients.
  • training and mentoring staff on CEQA/NEPA and other planning/environmental requirements;
  • preparing and managing complex environmental documentation for a wide variety of local and regional projects;
  • conducting complex analysis of data;
  • interacting with clients on mid to large size projects (budgeting, billing, scheduling, invoicing);
  • active involvement in planning/environmental professional organizations;
  • demonstrated confidence in decision-making and be recognized by clients and peers as having expertise in CEQA/NEPA and related technical areas; and
  • possessing existing positive relationships with Sacramento Valley and northern California CEQA/NEPA lead agencies.

Background requirements include Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Planning or Natural Sciences or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, including project management experience and technical leadership for multidisciplinary projects. At least 5 years of the most recent experience must show successful project management for northern California cities, counties, infrastructure agencies, and other lead agencies.

Marketing Assistant – Rocklin Office

ECORP Consulting, Inc., a fast-paced environmental consulting firm (CEQA/NEPA, biology, archaeology, air quality, noise, permitting) headquartered in Rocklin, is searching for an experienced Marketing Assistant. This is a dynamic internal position that offers a significant variety of daily tasks, as well as long-range assignments. This position will assist the local Proposal Coordinator in preparing materials for proposal submittals. Proposal coordination experience and skills are a plus. This position will also support other corporate marketing functions. Successful candidate must be detail oriented, self-starter, reliable, able to work independently and on a team, possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), be well organized, and an excellent multitasker. Human Resources Generalist

We are looking for an HR Generalist that will provide support in areas such as employee relations, engagement and development, performance management, compensation, recruiting and benefits. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Director to establish and maintain first class HR programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with employees to improve working relationships.

On-call Biologists (entry and mid-level) -- Multiple Positions Available

Our Rocklin office is looking for entry and mid-level Biologists with experience in conducting biological surveys and construction monitoring. A Bachelor of Science degree or higher in biology, ecology, or a related science is required. We are looking for technical expertise in field biology and environmental compliance monitoring. The desired candidate will have: 

  • strong communication skills,
  • ability to multitask,
  • and exhibit professionalism in interactions with coworkers, agency staff, contractors, and clients.

Responsibilities will include:

  • performing biological preconstruction surveys for special-status species (e.g., nesting birds/raptors, amphibians and reptiles, bats),
  • performing environmental and/or biological construction monitoring,

Travel and fieldwork accounts for the majority of this position. Senior Biologist/Project Manager

ECORP Consulting, Inc. is searching for a qualified Senior Biologist/Project Manager to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Key components include managing individual project tasks and providing direction to support staff; overseeing completion of permit applications and regulatory documents; assisting clients and overseeing compliance of regulatory permits and project implementation; attending client meetings; interacting with agency staff; and managing field surveys as needed. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage complex projects requiring biological resources supportand regulatory permitting.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients while serving as the primary project point of contact for the client as well as agency staff, and attend project/client/agency meetings.

Biologists

ECORP Consulting, Inc. is looking for mid-level biologists (aquatic resources delineator, wildlife biologist, fisheries biologist) to join the Natural Resources Department in our Rocklin office. We are seeking someone with excellent field biology and observation skills and knowledge in a wide range of taxa and vegetation communities, with particular experience in the Northern California fauna and flora.

The biologist will perform the following job tasks:

  • Conduct/lead USACE three-parameter aquatic resource delineations
  • Conduct/lead field surveys and habitat assessments for special status species
  • Organize and schedule needed surveys for the field season
  • Prepare reports summarizing results of field surveys and technical studies
  • Prepare biological resource assessments to support biological sections of CEQA/NEPA applications
  • Prepare scopes of work and cost estimates for a variety of biological field tasks
  • Assist with permit applications, other document preparation, and other field efforts as appropriate
  • Support senior staff and train/mentor entry-level staff

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and experience:

  • Capable of performing aquatic resources field delineations with minimal supervision
  • Bachelor’s Degree in ecology, biology or related field required. Master’s or PhD a plus

  • Excellent California plant and wildlife ID skills, particularly for Northern California special status species and their habitats

Archaeological Monitors – on-call

ECORP Consulting, Inc. in Rocklin, California is currently accepting resumes for on-call archaeological monitors for projects in northern California and the San Francisco Bay Area. Responsibilities largely include construction monitoring, but may also include pedestrian survey, site mapping and recording, excavation, and other duties as assigned.
